VIDEO: Underwater Pier Inspection Along the Schuylkill River

All piers need to be periodically inspected to determine the condition of the structural elements and if they are still safe for their intended use. Urban’s Peter Brennan recently embarked on a pier inspection along the West Bank of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was joined by a dive team from Specialty Underwater Services (SUS) and their dive vessel, Mako. In the video above, watch the diver core a creosote-protected timber pile.
