As National Practice Leader for Aviation, Dale leads Urban’s aviation efforts throughout the greater country. With almost 30 years of national experience, Dale has a strong focus coordinating airside projects, managing and facilitating communication between airports, their tenants and users, the FAA, and the project design teams. His in-depth understanding of FAA standards and processes help him to expedite and successfully execute airport planning around federal funding by procuring grants, managing PFCs, and creating project bid packages to efficiently secure and utilize available funds. Dale’s specialty expertise of managing projects spanning multidisciplinary public works improvement areas facilitates his ability to successfully manage large teams with multiple specialty team members.
Dale takes great pride in overseeing Urban’s on-call engineering services contract and new terminal design project at Trenton-Mercer Airport, as well as the ongoing Design/Build ConRAC projects at Newark Liberty International and Bradley International Airport in Connecticut. These projects challenge him on a daily basis to successfully identify unique solutions to each challenge that is presented.
Prior to becoming a leader for Urban’s aviation practice, Dale spent almost two decades designing highway and municipal roadway projects. His highway and roadway career brought him all over the United States and Canada, working on major projects across California, Ontario, and Massachusetts. Dale graduated with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Queen’s University of Kingston in Ontario, Canada. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in ten states/provinces, including major northeastern states such as Pennsylvania, Texas, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
