Urban is pleased to announce that Gregory May, PE, LEED AP, has been promoted to vice president. Mr. May serves as the firm’s national practice leader for rail and transit.
“Greg’s ability to rise through the ranks of the firm is due to his tireless work ethic and dedication to the needs of our clients,” said Urban CEO Kenneth R. Fulmer, PE. “Under his proven leadership, Urban’s rail and transit practice continues to serve a growing number of Class 1 railroads, regional and national passenger rail agencies, and other rail clients around the country on complex and diverse engineering, construction management and support, and program management and oversight assignments.”
Mr. May is experienced in all phases of engineering design and construction on a wide variety of rail projects. He has worked on projects in almost every region in the United States and has been instrumental in cultivating new opportunities with several railroads and transit agencies the Northeast Corridor.
A registered Professional Engineer, Mr. May is also a LEED Accredited Professional. His academic studies focused on mechanical engineering at Villanova University and the University of Pittsburgh, and then on civil engineering at the University of New Haven. Mr. May is an active member of such organizations as the American Railway Engineering & Maintenance-of-Way Association and the American Public Transportation Association, serving on committees for both organizations. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Metropolitan New York Railway Club, and the Project Management Institute. Additionally, Mr. May serves on the Civil Engineering Advisory Board for the University of New Haven.
