Jen Waters PE, LEED AP, Vice President and Philadelphia Regional Manager at Urban Engineers, has been honored as the 1000th member admitted to the prestigious Carpenters’ Company of the City and County of Philadelphia.

Jen was inducted into the company during April's quarterly meeting, along with Claire Donato, President of Mark B. Thompson Associates of Philadelphia; Joanne Aitken, former Principal of Kieran Timberlake and adjunct professor of architecture at Drexel University; Danielle DiLeo Kim, President and CEO of Philadelphia250 and CEO of Danielle DiLeo Kim LLC; and Richard Maimon, Partner, Kieran Timberlake.

“Becoming the 1000th member of the Carpenter’s Company during its 300-year anniversary is a special moment. I am deeply honored to join this esteemed organization of prominent architects, building contractors, and engineers dedicated to preserving our city’s rich historical legacy while supporting innovative building construction and architecture,” said Jen Waters.

The Carpenters' Company of the City and County of Philadelphia is one of the oldest trade associations in the United States. It was founded in 1724 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to regulate the carpentry trade, set craftsmanship standards, and support its members. The association was integral in constructing and developing the city's structural infrastructure. Over time, its focus has expanded to promote architectural, engineering, and construction education and preserve the city's historic architecture.

One of the notable contributions of the Carpenters' Company is the construction of Carpenters' Hall, located in the historic district of Philadelphia on 320 Chestnut St. Carpenters' Hall was built in 1774 and served as a meeting place for the group, eventually becoming the largest rental space in the city.
