The Philadelphia Business Journal has named Matthew Reese, PE, AICP, of Urban Engineers to their highly esteemed annual "40 Under 40" list. The list recognizes top young professionals in the Philadelphia region who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and have made significant contributions to their respective industries.

"I am truly honored to be named to the Philadelphia Business Journal's '40 Under 40' list," said Matthew. "I am grateful to Urban Engineers for providing me with the opportunity to work on projects that have such a positive impact on the communities we serve."

Matthew serves as the deputy practice leader of site/land development department at Urban and has a portfolio of design and engineering projects spanning the U.S. from Massachusetts to California, and the globe from China to Beirut. He is based at the firm’s Old City headquarters and specializes in stormwater management and land development. Matthew’s skills brought project success to the PHL wetland mitigation at FDR Park, Ardmore Transportation Center, Bicentennial Bell, and Wissahickon-Cross County Trail in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

Matthew graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2011. He gained his Professional Engineering (PE) license in 2016, and utilized his experience between Sasaki Associates, a design firm, and Urban Engineers to become an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) professional in 2021. It is rare to be both a PE and an AICP, putting Matthew in a better position than most for work with planners, designers, governmental officials, and engineers alike.

The "40 Under 40" list has been a staple of the Philadelphia Business Journal for over two decades, and each year it continues to showcase some of the most accomplished young professionals in the region. Matthew and the other honorees were recognized at the special event hosted at Rivers Casino in Philadelphia.
