Urban is pleased to announce Patrick Williams, PE, LEED AP, has been named the Texas section director for the Dallas Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Mr. Williams serves as a senior project manager working out of Urban’s Irving office.

“It is an honor to be given this regional leadership position by ASCE, an important organization in the engineering industry,” Mr. Williams said. “In my new position, I plan to continue ASCE’s mission to provide essential value to our members and partners, advance civil engineering, and serve the public good in Texas.”

In his new role as Texas section director, Mr. Williams will serve as the liaison between the Dallas Branch and the Texas section of ASCE. He will be responsible for obtaining the view of branch and board members on pertinent issues prior to attending the section meetings, as well as assisting the branch officers in preparation of reports or in actions required by ASCE, the section board, or the executive committee of the Texas section. In addition, he will request the branch officers and committee chairs to submit semi-annual reports before the seasonal meetings and conferences as directed by the section.

Mr. Williams has more than 14 years of engineering design and construction management experience, focused on airport design and site development. Mr. Williams is skilled in designing pavement for runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, and parking lots; as well as completing Federal Aviation Administration-compliant obstruction analyses and security fence and gate hardening work. He is also adept at performing stormwater management calculations; designing ADA-compliant facilities; providing horizontal and vertical pipeline alignments; and applying best management practices to design, utility relocation, erosion and sediment control, and environmental permitting efforts. Mr. Williams consistently meets fast-track schedules for complex projects with environmental permits requiring local, state, and federal coordination. He has played a key role on projects at Philadelphia International (PHL), Northeast Philadelphia (PNE), Trenton-Mercer Airport (TX), and other major airports.
