Urban is pleased to announce that Kevin Brown has been named the Philadelphia Young Civil Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Philadelphia Section. Mr. Brown, who serves as a construction manager at Urban, was presented the award at the organization’s Spring Social event at Sky Philadelphia on the 51st floor of Three Logan Square.

“It is an honor to be recognized as the Young Civil Engineer of the Year by my peers here in the engineering industry,” said Mr. Brown. “I am very appreciative of this accolade from the Philadelphia Section of ASCE and am motivated to continue to work hard and serve others in and outside the engineering community.”

Mr. Brown began his career with Urban Engineers and has been responsible for work on significant transportation projects throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area. Currently, he is the assistant resident engineer on the $118 million I-95/Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange, where he manages the construction of all the structural components of the project. Prior to that, he served as the structures supervisor on the reconstruction of I-95, Section GR1 in Philadelphia. Mr. Brown’s experience also includes construction management services on PennDOT's Route 1 Bridge Rehabilitation project in Delaware County and PennDOT's Spring Garden Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Philadelphia. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Widener University.

The Philadelphia Section of ASCE was officially recognized by the national branch in 1913. For over 100 years, the section has been serving a community full of civil engineering professionals, younger members, students, and other civil engineering supporters in Philadelphia and surrounding regions.
